STEUTE, found in 1961, is located in Löhne, Germany ... a 45 minute drive from Hannover. Today the firm employs 175, with headquarters occupying our 75,000 square foot, IEC 13485-certifed facility.

Our "medical-grade" foot switch business was formed in 1996 with the emergence of the Medical Device Directive. With more than 40 years of industrial-grade foot switch experience, STEUTE's management recognized that modifying these designs for medical device OEMs represented an unacceptable compromise for meeting their needs.

To better meet the unique needs of the medical market, where ultimately a patient may be vulnerable, STEUTE recognized the importance of designing and producing a product that was fundamentally different from an "industrial" product.

Consequently, we are focused exclusively on the development and production of "medical-grade" foot switches, that are expressly-designed to functionally, ergonomically, and aesthetically complement your medical device.
