After careful assessment of a number of technologies (including Infrared, ENOCEAN, DECT, WLAN, ZIGBEE, BlueTooth™ and others), including thorough consideration of the safety requirements associated with patient vulnerability, STEUTE design engineers have developed wireless solutions using 2.4 GHz radio frequency technology expressly for use in medical applications. Based on the inherent characteristics (e.g. bidirectional communications, frequency-hopping, and no "line-of-sight" requirements), we believe that these technologies offer the noise-immunity, transmitter-receiver "pairing", and worldwide acceptance essential to a safe, marketable solution.
